Companies are just focusing on the trend of AI (which just feels like a buzzword now). I am getting sick of all this trend towards targeting AI to the point that it is marketed in tons of hardware and software products. I may sound like a luddite, but there are a myriad of reasons for me to be against it, plus you need some skeptics for innovation. I am beginning to feel like the skeptics usually are more knowledgable about the evil uses of future innovations.

AI is stupid

Yes, I know that AI art models can make some pretty convincing images, but even then, the images fall apart as soon as signs, teeth or hands are placed in. If there are no hands, signs or teeth in the AI art, then yeah, you could possibly convince someone who isn’t looking for signs. Even if you go over to other places, like chat bots or video, they still fall apart as obviously AI that I don’t understand why anybody thinks AI is going to replace humans. People only have made AI for a very narrow set of skills that it could only possibly replace humans in only one field.

My point is that AI has not reached the general level of intelligence humans have been at for thousands of years by this point. If AI had developed the general intelligence levels of humans, then the systems we have in place would be very different and could fall apart potentially.

Too many hallucinations

Someone I know says they hate the word “hallucinations” to describe obvious errors that some AI models make confidently, thinking it is correct. I do have to agree, since it sort of leaves the creators off the hook, when they technically created the errors, while I do not know of a better word for this, I still think we need to move away from the word “hallucination” to describe these errors.

Anyways, even if you do trust these models, you will still encounter one of these hallucinations. This is a problem especially for the general public, which I must say, is quite idiotic when it comes to technology. We have all been told not to trust what you see on the internet, but it must extend over to AI too, you cannot trust anything now since some people are using AI to try and get by. Most won’t notice any deficiencies in the prompt result, but there will be people who see some errors in specific places, like a factual error, a drawing error, or a video error where something is thrown into the void.

No room for uniqueness

I need to reiterate this very thing. AI doesn’t learn anything new, it is all just mimicry, it cannot think, it just mimics what it has learned. I would go on a further tangent, but I already have in my other AI posts, so just read the other posts if you want a better idea of what AI really is. There have been some experiments done on it, like Linus Tech Tips doing a video with ChatGPT to build a computer for them, and it got some things wrong, especially when it came to using context clues. That’s because everything ChatGPT has been trained on is inside a vacuum, nothing OpenAI can do can create context clues for the model to use to further make corrections on itself.

Copilot will make more replicas of copyrighted work

While I am not a lawyer, so I do not fully know on if using AI to create a form of art violates copyright law (Yes, I know a US court ruled AI art as not able to recieve copyrights). I still am under the belief that you are a copyright violator (along with the AI model creators) if you make something like a novel, a poem or a painting or drawing using AI, since AI just mimics specific pieces of art, and just combines some of them to make “your” art piece. If people keep doing this, even more people will just be violating copyright law (under my belief).

AI uses up too much water

All the models that you may know of (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, whatever others) all use up a ton of water (or billions of tons of water). Even though the companies say they are trying to reduce the usage, why should I trust them? Why should you trust them? These companies have already enshittified other platforms like YouTube, Google Search, Microsoft Windows, literally everything mainstream and popular on the internet, how can you trust them with something that everybody on this planet needs? If you had to trust a narcissistic, self-centered, sociopathic sadist businessman or a pretentious, zealous, but caring person with my life, which would you choose? I hope you made the correct choice, since I just made the comparison between companies and the community of general people. I would rather put my trust in the general public than an entire corporation, since corporations do not give a flying FUCK about what you think, they just care about money. Companies would torture and kill all of humanity if it meant they get just a few cents of extra money in their profits.

Dear everyone, please demand action, demand that AI must stop the advancement, all for the greater good. The only thing that AI is good at doing is mimicry, it is perfect at acting like a mockingbird.
